Last Saturday (13 July 2019) I took part in an event organised in the Town Hall here in #Nieuwegein. The idea behind it was great: what can you do for someone else? How can you help others? What do you need help with? Everyone could exchange goods, food or talent freely. The result was great: plenty of happy people, enjoying the fantastic musical performances while eating healthy and nice food, getting a manicure done in exchange of a bit of #Dutch coaching (#NLeducatie) or trying a temporary #tattoo traded for a second-hand #book. All sorts of people interacting and building a new sense of belonging, of community, supporting each other...thanks for providing these sort of spaces! (#detweedeverdieping #biebnieuwegein #bibliotheek #stadshuis #gemeente #movactor #ginavandenberg). Of course, I was there offering photos...here a few of the ones exchanged for sushi, snacks, a tattoo and many smiles. As far as I am aware, this was the first time this type of event (a #ruilcafé) is organised here, and I am already looking forward to next one!
