Messy motherhood on the 'moestuin': harvesting, eating and allotment fun.

Updated: Jul 16, 2019

When I met Julia I was surprised by her energy and by the number of things she is capable of doing in exactly the same amount of time that I have! Incredible! Still not sure how she manages to run a house with three amazing-different-age-range kids, while she also has a job, teaches a pottery class, does yoga every day, follows an online course to set up her new business, plans fun outings with her husband, dedicates time to her numerous friends and to top it all, looks after her very productive #allotment (#moestuin).

We were lucky enough to be there for the red #currant #harvesting last week...what a treat! The #boys had great fun watering, harvesting and especially tasting the freshly picked #fruit and veg. We ate until our bellies were aching! Back #home we cooked three big messy pots of #jam with four out of the six containers we brought and still enjoying the rest fresh fruit with yoghurt every morning :) We also took some other goodies: #lavander, #thyme, #mint, wild #onions and #garlic.

Julia is incredibly positive...a trait that seems to run in the family: her son Jimi is such a happy chap! We're really lucky to have met them and discover new things around #Nieuwegein as nice as this little green hidden gem full of flavours and goodies.
