Friends are hard to find and even harder to keep - a tale of three gals in Málaga

Some years ago I remember reading in a newspaper the results of a survey that rather shockingly suggested that as many as 10% of people in the UK don’t have a single friend to turn to, which means that nearly 5 million adults who are, sadly, friendless. Of course, many of these are elderly (whose friends have died), or inadequates who lack functional social skills, but it remains still a significant number of ordinary people who just don’t know how to maintain good friendships. The photos in this post are to celebrate friendship actually, showcasing a particular ’star’ style one: as these ladies and me may not see each other but we know we’re there. We travelled from different countries to meet up again (after two years of not seeing each other) in Málaga: literally eat, love and pray! Fantastic city, beautiful weather (in January! How cool is that?), beaches, museums and tons to see and do. We rented a bike and cycled along the renovated port to the beach: highly recommended (look for Malaga Segway & Private Tours, a place besides the cathedral where a super nice guy works and gave us great advice).

We also hired a car and drove to the Alhambra, one of the most impressive places I’ve ever been, took like a million photos. So, thank you Cynthia and Vero, for the laughs, the extra kilos, the patience and for made time to connect, in these busy lives is more important than ever to stop the excuses, to stop the drift away from each other. I can’t wait for our next trip, an official tradition now :)
