On 7 September I took part in a lovely festival here in Nieuwegein: de Imagine Multi Culti. The idea behind it is fantastic: to share a bit of your culture and get to know a bit of the ones of your neigbours.
The project aimed to create more connection and understanding within a multicultural society, inviting as many people as possible to show pride in their own culture. The organizers are aware of the many differences between people, but fortunately, they bet there are many more similarities. In this scary times of polarization, populism and extreme division, it‘s utterly important to take part in this sort of events and help creating an inclusive stronger together society. I was glad to show my Mexican flag and to share some photos of my amazing country while chatting with people from all over the world, trying delicious bites and new dances, listening to interesting music and singing together.
